CREATIVE WORKSHOPS THIS SPRING
If you are local to us in Cheam Village, Surrey or in south London you might want to visit one of your creative workshops. We have done a lot of planning and have a nice range of workshops lined up for a few upcoming months. From brush lettering, photography masterclass, botanical themed workshops to creative sessions for children over the half term. Do you know anyone who has a birthday in spring? Cocktails and Pottery Painting Evening - 7-9pm - Saturday 16th February 2019
This Saturday 16th February we are hosting Cocktail and Pottery Painting Evening with Emma Doyle. You will be given a signature cocktail on arrival (with more to follow), some nibbles, music and of course some beautiful handmade ceramic pieces to paint! All pieces are designed and made by Emma Doyle. The price is £25 (for a 2+ hour session) which includes the pottery piece, glazes as well as drinks and nibbles on arrival. Book here.

HALF TERM - INTRODUCTION TO CALLIGRAPHY FOR KIDS
Tuesday 19th February - 10.30am-12.15pm
Next week we are running a couple workshops for children during their half term. INTRODUCTION TO CALLIGRAPHY FOR CHILDREN - Tuesday 19th February - 10.30am-12.15pm which is run by Aleks who works in our shop. Children will learn basic strokes, they will practice the alphabet & making their own. They will also be introduced to different learning styles, decorative motives, borders and frames. HALF TERM - ART Workshop for Children - Endangered Animals
Thursday 21st February - 11am - 12.30pm
Another workshop in half term week is ART Workshop for Children - Endangered Animals - Thursday 21st February - 11am - 12.30pm. The children will be learning about endangered animals and will be able to draw them in their habitats. They will then create their own sculptures based on their drawings. We will be creating 3D forms and discussing what we can do to help protect these beautiful creatures! Suitable for children 5-13 years old. Tutored by Emma Doyle. Cost - £15. Book here.

Brush Lettering Workshop - Thursday 7 th March - 7-9pm
We are very excited about two workshops we are running together with Becki Clark. Becki is a creative designer with an experience working in the greetings card industry. She's been illustrating and designing surface patterns and designs for cards, wrapping paper and stationery which have then gone on to be sold in large retailers such as John Lewis, Waitrose, Tesco and WHSmith.
The first workshop is Brush Lettering Workshop - Thursday 7th March - 7-9pm. This is the perfect workshop for anyone who tried calligraphy before, enjoys art and wants to learn a new hobby. Becki will introduce brush lettering and the ways you can use it to create your own prints and stationery. She will then work through the guide sheets beginning with mark making which will help you get comfortable using the brush. You will talk through how you can use the strokes to create your letters before going on to practise the full alphabet, words and phrases. Becki will be on hand with lots of tips and guidance as you work through the guide sheets and you should start to feel more confident with the brush and developing your own lettering style.You will then brush letter your own gift tags and A5 print to take home. Creative Business & Photography Masterclass

Spend the day with 91 Magazine editor Caroline Rowland and photographer Jemma Watts who combine their 30 years experience working in the creative industries to deliver this comprehensive class covering various aspects of running your creative business. Caroline will cover everything from creating a strong brand and how best to utilise social media to how to approach and work with editors and bloggers to email marketing. Jemma will share her wealth of experience as a photographer, covering how to shoot product and lifestyle images, how to work with natural light, utilising props for styling, advice on image selection and how to best edit your images to maximise their potential. Botanical Painting Workshop - Thursday 4th April - 7-9pm
Becki Clark will be back with her Botanical Painting Workshop on Thursday 4th April - 7-9pm. She will introduce the materials you’ll be working with and will begin with talking about colour palettes before working through mixing colours to create your own collection of colour palettes to work with through the session. You will be taught how simple brush strokes can make up botanical motifs. You will work through some simple motif shapes with encouragement to explore how shapes can make your own florals and foliage. You will work towards creating your own floral painting to take home.This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and you will be able to take home your guide sheets so you can continue to practice. Botanical Clay Printing - Saturday 4th May 1.30 - 3.30pm
An afternoon of Botanical Clay Printing. Printing flora and fauna into soft clay to capture the beauty of nature. In the 2 hour session you will create a wall plaque/series of tiles or small platter using white clay and earthy coloured slips to add decoration. Your pieces will then be fired and glazed by tutor Emily Hall before collection 2-3 weeks later. Please bring along anything from your garden or walks that you'd like to try pressing into clay. Learn to Screen Print on Textiles - Saturday 18th May 1.30 - 4pm
Creative and engaging screen printing workshop with an experienced educator and artist Sarah Pimenta|SocialFabric – WWW.SOCIAL-FABRIC.CO.UK . This creative workshop is suitable for beginners. Participants will create prints onto fabric and learn techniques including screen printing and stencil cutting.
